Producer of the Month - Mark Wolfson

"A producer takes a song to the final level. This individual is responsible for the creation of your record. He or she will oversee all creative aspects of your recording process including, but not limited to, the musical arrangements, capturing all the right performances, and physically recording the sound with the assistance of his or her engineer team."

Wolfson began his lifelong career in music in Chicago studying piano, cello, guitar and singing. His spirit, coupled with his vision and perseverance eventually brought him to Los Angeles where he made his production debut in 1972. Since then he has earned over 25 Gold, Platinum and 3x/6x Platinum Record Awards working with names such as Smokey Robinson, Kim Carnes, Ice T and The Talking Heads. In film, he has made creative contributions to such works as "That Thing You Do", "Silence of the Lambs" and "Philadelphia" and "My Big Fat Greek Wedding", to name a few.  Currently, Wolfson is the Director of Production and Development for Playtone/Epic Records. His production company, Reel Entertainment, LLC, has worked independently to develop unsigned bands (Jane Child, Mighty Joe Young (STP), School of Fish, Lions and Ghosts) and has helped them forge solid careers in entertainment.  He is versed in many genres of music but all end up as radio worthy projects.
